Based on the geomechanical model at the location of the well, a pre-drilling Wellbore Stability Evaluation (WBS) is performed, and conditions compatible with drilling are determined.
This calculation makes it possible to characterize the section in terms of the likelihood of various geological complications (losses, wellbore instability, manifestations, etc.).
When analyzing risks, all intervals of possible risks, causes, consequences, factors that make it possible to control and prevent risks are described. After understanding all the risks for each section, safe circulation limits and other operational parameters are determined, recommendations for further work are given.
The geological risk map during well construction contains a description of all possible risks, detailed instructions for their prevention and elimination during drilling, tripping, casing and cementing.
The presence of a risk map allows drilling specialists to prepare in advance for possible complications, to work out options for eliminating complications if they occur.
